Not to beat a dead horse, but I want to make sure we're clear that I'm
objecting to the implementation details, not the high concept:

True -- but even there, this feels artificial to me. Forcing it to be a
single track assumes that everyone is interested in that track, and that
doesn't seem realistic. I mean, I don't see *any* sense in preventing the
ME folks from running classes in parallel, for example -- most of them
don't give a damn about the stuff that's you'd be putting in this "Master
Track". And the only problem with having a less-advanced track is finding
enough teachers: possibly a real issue, but not one that I'd assume in
advance.

Having such a track for a certain crowd makes reasonably good sense to me
-- I'm just objecting to trying to artificially prevent anybody else from
doing anything else during it, which seems like overkill. Instead, I'd
just declare that Thursday will be *focused* on these master classes, make
clear to everyone that many of the advanced teachers will be sucked into
them for the day, and see where things go from there...
