Great to hear!

We (UMBC) are in the process of migrating from a uw-imap/maildir/
procmail/AFS, erm... menagerie... to something similar as yours (for
~25k users) in the form of 4x X4100M2, each with a zpool comprising
of a mirror between two se3511s on our SAN... with plenty of RAM in
each server (12GB) to keep the ARC nice and fat. We're going to try
for a unified MURDER setup with this.

You say you're running s10u3 (which is our base load as well) with
ZFS compression on... right now in s10's ZFS there's a bug which
keeps the compression ops serialized and stuck to one CPU. A fix has
been in Nevada and will be released as part of a greater ZFS patch
when s10u4 is released, hopefully this month. It will be interesting
to note if your IOPs improve at all after that (there are some other
performance improvements as well)
