we need some information about cyrus-imap server

I cant help with 1-3 but to 4 i would migrate the old eMails to cyrus.
If you have already an IMAP server runnig i would use mailutil or 
imapsync to copy them from the old to the new server.

Mailutil is faster, but imapsync has more options to rename the folders
