alice-teacher Is subject Computer science optional or compulsory?

Is school subject like "Computer science" a compulsory part of national
curriculum or it is as an optional school subject (not a mandatory)?

I'd like to better understand in what conditions "Alice works" because it
looks like that (here in East EU) we have very colorful national
curriculums. Subjects like Computer Science is somewhere optional somewhere
compulsory.
