alice-teacher Random errors

All--

My students have Alice on their personal macs (mostly new) and on the school macs (2009ish).  We get “unknown error” almost every time we use the Save command and randomly at other times while we are using Alice.  Even though there is an error message, the file saves.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  Does anyone know what’s causing it?
