Please see the below FMS notice.  Work will begin this evening to repair the water line which may, or may not be completely repaired by tomorrow morning.  Bottled water and portable bathrooms will be available in the event that the problem is not fixed.  Campus Services departments will be fully operational.

SUBJECT: 6555 Penn Ave Water Main Break 10/13

 

Because of traffic considerations, the city would not allow work to start
until 7:00 PM.  Our contractor just got agreement from PWSA to valve off
service along Penn Ave. tonight starting at 7:00 PM.  They expect to have
our lateral uncovered by approximately 3:00 AM and to start making repairs
if they find something on our lateral at that time.  Assuming the problem is
on our line, we should have water back to the building by mid-morning at the
latest.  However, if the problem is in the PWSA main, the service
interruption could be considerably longer.

Given the uncertainty of the situation, we have arranged for 4 portable
restrooms to be placed in the parking lot between 7:00 and 8:00 AM tomorrow.
