Dear friends and colleagues,

I've just heard the sad news that Julia Sutton died in the morning of
July 1, following a severe infection that required hospitalization.

For those of you who may not know: Julia was an internationally known
figure in the field of early dance and music, and a long-time faculty
member at New England Conservatory.  She did much to help develop
early dance research, nurturing dancers and scholars both.  Let us
mourn her passing.
