Yes, it is always good to have a cheaper single room option on site,
especially for convenience.

We'll let you know otherwise what the final numbers were. I'm not quite
certain. Most people made it, only had a few cancellations. I'd say
otherwise that 150 - 200 is a good bet for your event. That is what we had
proposed in our initial discussion of the event, however our break even
point was put somewhat lower. (Too many people were concerned that the
economics of the event weren't feasible. They didn't really understand that
it is more like a conference in some aspects).

I think our attendance would have been a bit more too if we hadn't had the
other event conflict. I get the feeling that beyond the dance group, we
didn't get too too many local people.

But yes, I would think you should get a good turnout, since you are central,
and you don't have the border issues to contend with as much.

You could even have a decent Middle Eastern group, if you have space for a
separate focus. We were trying, but due to delays, we didn't end up getting
a turnout. But I know that Terp gets a contingent there.

I think that using Terp as an estimate for numbers would be good, and then
add some travellers. One autocrat told me originally to take your local
dance event size, and add 50 travellers. Now that didn't quite make sense
for us, since we normally have our event in February, and it is quite
small. It may work for Terp as an estimate, not sure, since they probably
already get quite a few travellers. But I'd still guess 150 - 200.

(depending on the economy, and which plagues are passing through, etc!)

Darius
