[SCA-BMDL] New Post On Storfrettir: Minutes from the October Business Meeting

Given that email space is essentially non-ending and free for most people these days, having a lengthy message isn't exactly a huge issue. OTOH, expecting people to intuit that they need to click here, then download that IS an issue (as people are pointing out).  If email is going to be sent, it needs to contain the right content, otherwise, why bother?

I believe you've just answered your own question. If the meeting minutes are ever too long for a reasonable blog post, posting them inline would preclude having that post happen. In addition, even if the length of the post does not meet or exceed this theoretical limit -- which I don't know if it ever happens -- linking it as a separate file keeps lengthy messages out of the mailboxes of people who don't want to see them.

The way that information flows from the blog to the email list, the link that would be followed is the "To see this post on the Stórfréttir, click here: [link to story]". Attachments don't flow through automatically to the email list, you need to go to the blog to click through to them.

Debatable Lands Meeting Minutes_20171004


The Officers of the Debatable Lands are elected by the membership and is made up of members of the populace, just like you. The Officers are responsible for ensuring that the policies of the Kingdom and Barony are followed and are accountable to the populace of the Debatable Lands. The Business meeting is open to everyone in the Barony and attendance by the populace is encouraged.
