[SCA-BMDL] BMDL Youth Combat at Washington Blvd. this Sunday

Greetings to all Youth Fighters and their parents!

Congratulations to Torstein Thorgrimsson, who won the Youth Combat Tournament at last weekend's Iron Comet Challenge, and to Lord Robert MacEwin of Thornhill, who won the overall Youth Iron Comet Championship. In addition, Eiiden Abdul Salam did a great job winning the archery, and tied for second in the overall Youth Iron Comet Championship, while Kenneth of the Debatable Lands was chosen as Most Chivalrous fighter. Great job, guys!

This Sunday, Debatable Lands youth combat practice resumes at the park at the corner of Washington Blvd. and Allegheny River Blvd. in the East End, where we will remain until fall. Map here: http://goo.gl/maps/FX4wg

Practice runs from 2-5 pm as usual. The high temp is supposed to be around 60 but it will be cloudy with a possibility of showers. I'll have my pop-up canopy there in case of rain.  As always, loaner gear is available for kids ages 6-17 who would like to try youth combat.

***Make sure to bring a water bottle***  There is NO running water on site.  The good news is that when we were there a few weeks ago, the portajohn was in good condition. If you want a place to sit between bouts, remember to bring a folding chair.

War Practice on Saturday, May 18 will feature the AEthelmearc Kingdom Youth Champion tourney! Youth fighting begins at 9:30 am Saturday morning with inspections, followed by the tourney at 10:00. Tourney format will depend on the number of fighters; most likely is multiple double elimination fights in each of the three weapons forms: sword and shield, great weapon, and two-sword. April 21 -  Practice outdoors at Washington Blvd. park

April 28 - Practice outdoors at Washington Blvd. park

May 5 - Practice outdoors at Washington Blvd. park 
May 12 - Practice outdoors at Washington Blvd. park
May 19 - NO PRACTICE, go to War Practice at Cooper's Lake on Saturday for the Kingdom Youth Champion tournament!
