[SCA-BMDL] BMDL Youth Fighter Practice this weekend

Greetings to all Youth Fighters and their parents!


While the weather prognosticators expect a minor snowpocalypse tonight and tomorrow, the forecast for Sunday is sunny with a high in the low 40s, so I hope everyone is dug out and ready to fight by then!

BMDL youth fighting practice be held this Sunday, Jan. 22, from 2-5pm at the Pittsburgh Chinese Church in the North Hills at 8711 Old Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 1523. 



Parking:  Park in the down-slope lot off of Highland Rd, walk around the side of the building, enter the first door, and walk up the stairs to the room on the 3rd floor.  Helpful picture at http://tinyurl.com/72mmqpc

We'll have loaner gear for any new fighters who need it.


Remember to bring a water bottle - the fountain on the floor where we practice is not working.


The BMDL Youth Combat practice schedule for the next month is as follows:

Jan 28 - Practice at the Chinese Church
Feb. 5 - Practice at Marshall Middle School in conjunction with the Regional Muster! More info as the date gets closer
Feb. 12 - Practice at the Chinese Church

REGARDING RATTAN: Yes, the transition to rattan has begun. I recently received three additional youth rattan weapons, PLUS I very much appreciate the donations of adult size rattan from Lady Katherine Sinclair and Sir Koredono, which we'll be shaving down to youth diameter soon. I plan to hold a weapons-making class at the regional muster in February (see below). More detail as the date approaches.
