[SCA-BMDL] Court Report: The Final Court of their Excellencies Byron and Ariella at the Debatable Lands Baronial Investiture

Here begins the record of the final court of their Excellencies Byron and
Ariella, Baron and Baroness of these Debatable Lands, on August 27th, Anno
Societatis 46, at the Baronial Investiture, Lord Pavel Dudoladov reporting
herald.
First, the presence of Alethea Cowle was requested. Their Excellencies
commented on her growing skill on the field and with the arts, as well as
her service in the kitchens, and thus they made her a companion of the Comet
Purpure, presenting her with a scroll illuminated by Aibell ingen
Churnachain and calligraphed by Aiden ni Leir.
Next their Excellencies called THLord Keiran MacRae forward. They spoke of
his skill as a musician, and artist and therefore made him a member of the
Order of the Comet Azure-Argent, presenting him with a scroll illuminated by
Pavla de la Satu Mare and calligraphed by Aiden ni Leir.
Lina in Danska was invited forth by their Excellencies. They remarked upon
her unceasing service to the Barony and thus inducted her into the Order of
the Gold d'Or. Presenting her with a scroll illuminated by Violante de
Luna, calligraphed by Alethea Cowle, with words by Odrianna vander Brugghe.
Their Excellencies then called forward Dame Elsbeth Anne Roth. They
recalled her countless hours of service to the Barony and the heraldic
community; therefore they would induct her into the Order of the Gold Comet
and present her with a scroll illuminated by Anna Leigh and calligraphed by
Kameshima Zentarou.
The presence of Caelinn of the Debatable Lands was then requested, their
excellencies remarked on her service to the barony at events and practices
and thus inducted her into the Order of the Comet Or, doing thus with a
scroll illuminated by Odrianna vander Brugghe and calligraphed by Keiran
MacRae.
Several representatives from the Shire of Ballachlagan were invited forward.
They congratulated their Excellencies on their successful tenure as Baron
and Baroness and presented them with a gift basket.
They were followed by THLord Urho Walterinen who presented them with a gift
on behalf of the archers of the Barony.
Next Lord Liam macan tSaoire and Lady Constance Glyn Dwr presented
themselves as their Excellencies' heirs and offered their Excellencies a
basket of gifts for their impending retirement.
Then THLady Hildarun Hugelman came forth and spoke to their Excellencies on
behalf of the Populace. She thanked their Excellencies for their service
and called forth Baron Langdon who on behalf of the populace had made their
Excellencies a gift, wooden boxes for their coronets, which could be
attached or carried separately, as well as buttons and fabric which were
neither black nor gold.
Their Excellencies graciously accepted all these gifts.
Their Excellencies then called forward the following to thank them for their
service during their Excellencies' term: THLady Margery Kemp, head retainer,
on behalf of all the retainers, THLady Hildarun Hugelman, Seneschal, on
behalf of the officers, Mistress Aiden ni Leir on behalf of the scribes,
Lord Pavel Dudoladov and THLord Brandubh o Donnghaile for their service as
herald,for his Marian Blackwater for the fighting tabards she made their
Excellencies, Cassandra Theodosius for the numerous belt loop comet favors
she made for their Excellencies to present, and Mistress Arianna of
Wynthrope for her advice throughout their reign.
Next their Excellencies called forth their children Joshua, Leah, and Ian.
They thanked them for their patience and support throughout their
Excellencies reign.
Finally their Excellencies thanked the Populace for their support and
service, for their kindness and goodwill, for making their Excellencies
reign a truly wonderful experience.
There being no further business the final court of Their Excellencies, Byron
and Ariella, 6th Baron and Baroness of the Debatable Lands was closed.
