Greetings Good Gentles,
The Siege of Harlech Castle is only 2 weeks away, and we have some
exciting details about this event.

First, from the cook: There will be a 14th Century English repast
featuring an all day sideboard open from noon to 5PM. The sideboard will
be filled with Soppes and Pottages, Meats and Pasties, and Pyes, Salats
and Tartelettes from England in the 14th century. Any dietary concerns
should be addressed to Brandubh O'Donnghaile (donnghaile at gmail.com)

The schedule of events is as follows:
10AM: Site opens; armour and weapon inspections begin, and lists open
Noon: List closes, and heavy weapons tournament begins (format depends on
number of entrants)
1 PM: Combat archery target competition
2 PM: Two-man spear bear pit tournament on the drawbridge (individual
competition to follow)
3 PM: "Rain of arrows" competition, in which teams of fighters attempt to
achieve the drawbridge against the defending archers
5 PM: Royal court
Sewing circle and heraldic consultation table will be ongoing throughout
the day.
Children's activities will be available in the mid-day, after which there
will be a class on "How to Serve a 14th-century High Table".

Please remember to carpool, as parking is limited, and please send
reservations for the sideboard soon to Master Dani of the Seven Wells
(Dani Zweig) at 1767 Beechwood Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
