Well, it's been good to hear from some people with... perspective.  I guess I'm spoiled by the fantastically well-mannered SCAdians I hang out with.

  shoot! that ain't bad publicity! BAD publicity is when the loonies in your group show up in a local city park and decide to juggle fire while wearing only fur and get their pictures in the paper!

  i didn't think they sounded like looneies. not at all. in fact this is one of the better representations of the sca that i've seen.

    In my opinion, this is bad publicity.  Even if you agree with the SCAdians
    who are quoted, most of them come across as looney (except Viscount Sir 
    Edward and the Simmons College student, who both managed to get some decent 
    quotes in).
