In related news, I met up with a city police officer friend who
thought the whole thing sounded fishy. He said the discharge law was
on firearms, and that if it were to happen again, we should ask to
talk to a supervisor. (did anyone?)

Of course, getting official sanction from the city councilman, and
moving to where there isn't any pedestrian traffic are good things.
