On May 6th, from 10am-5pm HEALTHSOUTH Mountain view Rehabilitation
Hospital in Morgantown, WV is hosting a Demo for SCA. The idea,
"Fighting for Freedom from Cancer" is to help the hospital raise Funds
for the Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
There is no entry fee. The hospital will be doing car washes, selling
food from the grill, and selling ribbons for $1. The ribbons are to be
gifted to us, as we inspire the populace. Merchants are welcome
however as this is a fund raiser they are requesting that 50% of
profits (after expenses are met) be donated to the Relay. Merchants
may register through me. There will be weeks of advertising and media
coverage as well. John McPherson is coming and bringing the power
point presentation he Created for demos.

I need people in garb, fencers, fighters, a mol and marshals. There
will be areas for arts and science presentations. Any heraldry,
display tables or info you would like to bring are welcome. We will be
outside so if you have a pavilion you want to bring that's fine just
let me know. Shade fly will be provided by the hospital as well as
water. The constraints of the site will not allow for archery or
thrown weapons, and we are bone dry. If you want to stay overnight
there are several hotels available and you will receive the hospital
discounted rates. Just e-mail me @ Shelly.Dusic at healthsouth.com and I will send
you info and coupons if necessary. I will make reservations after the
demo if people would like To have dinner together there are several
great places in Morgantown. Lost boys are also here post-rev plans may
be in the making. I think that covers who, what and when but now the
why. There aren't many times I pull on heartstrings so bear with me on
this. All the proceeds from this demo are donated to the American
Cancer Society. If you have ever wondered what happens to it after
that, hear me out. Many of you still remember when I was in the
wheelchair. Thanks to a grant from the American Cancer Society I had a
diagnostic procedure that detected my cancer early. To those of you
who have enjoyed fencing me, and my recently improved abilities, you
have been touched by the help that the Relay gives. I know I am not
the only survivor in our group I'm just one of the lucky ones.
Recently we lost a founding member of the Shire of Misty Highlands to
this horrible disease. This is our chance to fight back. This time we
fight for the honor and memory of those who have battled cancer before
and we fight for the hope of a better tomorrow. I never have and hope
I never will fight alone. Please if you are able come and join us on
this day I know that I would appreciate it, and so will many more.

I only have limited access to the internet right now so if There are
any other lists that you feel this would be appropriate for Please
pass it on.

In Service to the Dream, Gwyn
