[SCA-BMDL] Santa Claus Project-update.. Monday update

Greetings!

Here's the Monday update that I promised. :) We've had a wonderful response
to this project.  My thanks to everyone for your help.  We were able to get
most of the stuff that they asked Santa for.  A few minutes ago, Mistress
Margaret just dropped off 2 very nice tunics, pouches and archery tassels :)
That was such a great surprise, since I didn't know she was able to finsih
them on such short notice. :)  His Highness finished up an Ansteorrean
tabard for child # 2, Princess Royal Katheryn helped make a knitted hat for
one child and my neice Brittany knitted a scarf. :) We had many tasty
munchies (lemon bars, butterscotch brownies, regular brownies, hazelnut
cookies, sage thumbprints, peanut butter, choc. chip, oatmeal raisin and
cream cheese mints.)made by Iul'iana. A number of paypal donations from
several people, which enabled me to order an X box this morning, which is
supposed to be delivered between the 21st and 23rd.

I just received this from their mom, today:

"I just wish to say how greatful everyone here is for everything everyone
has done for this family. You have made this a most wonderously Happy and
Merry Christmas. The boys will be so surprised at all the wonderful things
and I thank you and everyone for making they're Christmas for them this
year. "

I would like to include my thanks as well.  I will be going out in the
morning to get a walmart gift card, so if anyone still wants to contribute
via paypal, that would be great.  If anyone sent or is sending a check,
don't worry.. I will be sending another gift card on either Thursday or
friday, from any other money that comes in.. and anything that arrives after
Christmas will be held and sent with the "12th night" package of garb and
SCA gear, at the end of Jan.  My thought was their mom could use any walmart
gift cards that we send, to get much needed winter clothes, especially for
child # 2 who needs a good winter coat..

I will be sending out a last package (for this month), in the morning.  I'll
also be ordering the X box game, underground: most wanted (thanks Iul'iana)
in the morning.  :) I'm working on getting updates from a couple of people
to see if they were able to get the items they were working on.. and if/when
it was shipped.  I'll admit with so many people chipping in, we exceeded my
expectations and hopes for this project.  :) I'm so impressed with the
generosity of our Kingdom.  :)

Due to timing and such, we weren't able to get much on the SCA garb.  We
also weren't able to get a youth helmet.  I talked to their mom and I told
her, that we would like to work on gathering/making them some new garb to
replace what they lost.. as a 12th night present.. I asked for measurements
and if they had a specific persona or garb preference.  If anyone would like
to help with this project, please let me know.  My plan is to see what we
can make (I'm hoping to make two tunics myself) and we can mail out what we
have at the end of Jan, as our final project to help this family. I'm also
hoping that we can find a youth helmet for child # 2.

If anyone would like to help with the SCA gear/12th night project, please
contact me offlist.. Please help me spread the word, since I know everyone
isn't online and I think some of the group sewing nights/sewing guilds may
be interested and willing to help with a specific item.
