How to read single-channel .svs files?

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to use openslide-python interface to read .svs files. I believe each channel is contained in a separate file and information for those files is contained in a .afi file. However, when using openslide to read in one of the files, I get the following error:

openslide.lowlevel.OpenSlideUnsupportedFormatError: Unsupported or missing image file

I'm not sure how to proceed. Any advice would be useful.
