Open remote file with openslide

Hi!

Is it somehow possible to open remote files with openslide C++?

E.g. openslide_open("http://openslide.cs.cmu.edu/download/openslide-testdata/Aperio/CMU-1-JP2K-33005.svs");

A first try revealed, it is not possible or at least not that easy.
