Hi Mathieu,
It doesn't seem as though file size should be an issue. Exactly what tiffcp command are you using? Do you get the same result with tiffsplit? (Of course that pulls more ifd's than you need, but you can always delete the extraneous ones.)

Subject: Extracting a tiff directory
Hi all,
I am playing with openslide command line tools and I wondering if
there is an easy way for me to extract the first tiff directory in a
SVS file ? Say for example CMU-1.svs reads as:
TIFF Directory at offset 0x95d7a10 (157121040)
Subfile Type: (0 = 0x0)
Image Width: 46000 Image Length: 32914 Image Depth: 1
Tile Width: 256 Tile Length: 256
Bits/Sample: 8
Compression Scheme: JPEG
Photometric Interpretation: RGB color
YCbCr Subsampling: 2, 2
Samples/Pixel: 3
Planar Configuration: single image plane
ImageDescription: Aperio Image Library v10.0.51

tiffcp just gave up on it.
Thanks !
