Lots of black around MIRAX slides

Hi,

I'll narrow my question down a little bit... The dimensions I get back from
`openslide_get_layer_dimensions` seem to always be larger than the actual
image. For roughly square images, the y dimension is about twice as large as
the x dimension.

Is there a good way to get the dimensions of the actual image area (i.e. the
blob somewhere in a middle where alpha>0)?

Thanks,

Andrew
