Hi All,

1. Some of you requested if the recitation can be moved to later in the
day. This was possible. The recitation will now be at 12:30PM on
Fridays. (Note from the recitation will always be posted on the
   website after the recitation.)

2. Attendance: We were supposed to get an electronic attendance
monitoring system. But that hasn't happened yet. Accordingly, for
Pittsburgh students, Mike or Drew will have a sign in sheet in the
front of class. They have agreed to hold the sign in sheet for a
little bit of time (few minutes) after class starts to accommodate
late arrivals. Please be sure you see them as soon as you arrive and
   sign the sheet promptly.

3. Your homework 1 is Due Thursday at 3:00pm (before class starts). Be
warned that the submission process can take a little time, especially
if this is the first time you are submitting it online. David's
instructions on how to submit the homework are included below.

4. Pittsburgh students can see videos of the NY help session on Canvas.
(A decision was made by the MSCF program that these recordings will
not be available to NY students, and so NY students will not have
access to the recordings. The reason for this decision is that when
recordings are available to NY students, the attendance in NY is very
low, and it changes the nature of the sessions.)

Best,

Gautam
