Indeed you can.  AFAIK, once Cyrus IMAP commits a message to disk, its
backing file is not changed, just unlinked (maybe due to an atomic
rename).  Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

rsync -H will also work, but it can be painful. YMMV.

I'd test the hardlink tool on a copy of the spool first, especially if you
already have a lot of hardlinked files in it, and some are two sets of
hardlinked files with the same content (it would actually be joining several
clusters of hardlinks into single a larger cluster...).
