That's rather imprecise. You don't report what error was reported by
reconstruct, what the logs show, or any really useful information which
gives anyone a chance of being able to help you.

Did you read the man-page for reconstruct(8)?

Did you run it as the cyrus runtime user?

Are all the files in the mail storage area owned by the cyrus runtime
user?

What error message did you see? What do your system logs show for
Cyrus?

Try stopping Cyrus entirely, running a recursive reconstruct over the
entire mail storage area, then starting Cyrus afterwards.

The "reconstruct" command only touches the Cyrus index/cache files and
leaves the mails alone, so they're all intact.

For any reasonable chance of help beyond the generic advice, you need to
report what's in your logfiles -- this is what diagnostic/audit logs are
for, so that someone trying to figure out what's happened has rather
more to go on than "it doesn't work, these programs can't see mail".
