Instillation problems

To test cyrus-imapd, ran the following command ...

localhost:root 18:50:44>imtest -u root localhost
getaddrinfo: Servname not supported for ai_socktype
failure: Network initialization - can not connect to localhost:imap

... which seams to to indicate that there was a problem.

This did not add anything to /var/log/imapd.log


I then attempted to enter the admin program to setup mailboxes and
such with the following command ...

localhost:root 18:50:52>cyradm --user cyrus localhost

cyradm: cannot authenticate to server with  as cyrus
Segmentation fault

This added the following four lines to /var/log/imapd.log


Nov  1 19:17:24 localhost master[28649]: about to exec 
/usr/lib/cyrus/imapd
Nov  1 19:17:25 localhost imap[28649]: executed
Nov  1 19:17:25 localhost imap[28649]: accepted connection
Nov  1 19:21:28 localhost imap[28649]: badlogin: localhost [127.0.0.1]
      DIGEST-MD5 [SASL(-13): user not found: no secret in database]
