weird sieve issues

Still received the
connecting to localhost
Bad protocol from MANAGESIEVE server: EOL2
error message. Nothing was found in /var/log/imapd.log

However...in /var/log/messages the following error message was recorded:
timsieved: could not getenv(CYRUS_SERVICE); exiting
