using smbpasswd for authentication?

The reason I want to use it is so I can use the Horde password module to 
let users change their password, as I understand it it works with 
smbpasswd, PAM and LDAP, not with sasl... Unless I'm mistaken. Maybe 
there is another graphical interface to Cyrus that I can let users use 
to change passwords and admins to do administrative tasks?
