Eh, why don't you tell postfix to deliver to Cyrus using lmtp directly?

That means cyrus master is borked. Upgrade to 2.2...

Unless you are running Debian 2.1.18-1, or one of the new Cyrus 2.2
releases, it could be cyrus master losing track of its children.  Look at
your logs.
