Is it possible to clean the trash folder automatic?

Unfortunately, for this purpose, ipurge works on the date/age of the message.  What 
I would like to be able to do is delete messages when they have been in the trash 
folder for over 24 hours.  The -X option lets you use the delivery timestamp, but 
that does not change when a message is moved from the inbox to the trash folder.

There does not seem to be any way of determining how long a message has been in a 
folder, rather than how old a message is.
