problem running cyrus-imap

hello this is my first mail to de list
My problem is the folowing
i configured cyrus-sasl with suport for encryted passwd, cyrus-imap with 
auxprop, postfix, webcyradm
the sistem works  but there are two problems
1 when cyrus start i get this messages in /var/log/imapd.log

Oct 15 16:36:00 piscis master[2053]: setrlimit: Unable to set file 
descriptors limit to -1: Operation not permitted

but cyrus goes up

2 I can connet using squirrelmail as front end, but I cannot connect from 
another machine. I configured evolucion in the same machine and I can 
connect using imap(if i enter the name of the machine, but not if I use the 
ip number) but not pop.

Any ideas
