servname not supported

New install of 2.1.16 on FreeBSD 5.2.1 with SASL 2.1.18, I am getting
this error when testing:

esmtp# imtest -p localhost imap
getaddrinfo: servname not supported for ai_socktype
failure: Network initialization

Anyone know what I need to do?
