authenetication problems on cyrus-imapd 2.2.3

You know I just ran into this problem upgrading from 2.1.16 to 2.2.3. 
Add this to your imapd.conf file:

sasl_mech_list: plain



For some reason sasl_mech_list is not in the man file for imapd.conf
