wildcard quota setting

I have an existing cyrus2.2.3 setup, and it is setup for use with 
virtual domains.
I have a number of users which have no quotas set, and now I want to set 
quotas for them.

I thought I could do this : sq user.%@mydomain.com 1000000
so that all roots of all users in the domain would have a quota set, but 
this gives a user name error.
The same wildcard used in an 'lm' command works correctly.

I presume therefore that I can't use wildcards for quota setting ? If 
not, how do people do without doing it by hand ?
