LMTPD error on NUL characters

Sometimes I get such Kind of errors,

<fozbaca at rss.blogstreet.com>: host
/var/imap/socket/lmtp[/var/imap/socket/lmtp]
    said: 554 5.6.0 Message contains NUL characters (in reply to end of
DATA
    command)

 Looked up on google ( I dont Know How will I survive without google) 

 People have said  run 'tr -d \\000' on the file before delivery
But Only a small percentage of my mails give this error and it is not
worth scanning all mails for NUL chars
Is there a better way
