Newbie help: Domain names as part of user names/mailboxes/etc?

Not on my server... :( That's how I started digging into the whole mess in
the first place. When sasldblistusers2 shows jay at linux.home.jay.fm, I
cannot login with imtest (or a real client) as just "jay", only as
jay at linux.home.jay.fm. Maybe there is something wrong with my imapd.conf?
