In the UMich environment, we currently have 914949 mailboxes and 1704  
deleted mailboxes.  Many of the deleted mailboxes have names like  
"postponed" and "Drafts", so I don't think that behavior is as  
unusual as you might think.  In any case, I don't think growing the  
mailbox list is a show-stopper, it's just something to be aware of.
