[CMUBDC] Newcomer Bootcamp Info!!

[CMU Ballroom Dance Club]

Hello Friends,

It’s Karishma, here to discuss more fun OSU preparation for our lovely
newcomers! Newcomer bootcamp is an amazing opportunity to learn a bit more
about the competition, as well as getting in some extra practice and
feedback before mock comp the following weekend. “Mock comp” is the event
we host to prepare you all for future competitions! It will include a few
run-throughs of different dances, practice for dancing in front of an
audience, and etiquette for future ballroom competitions. You do not have
to go to OSU to attend Bootcamp and/or Mock Comp. The tentative schedule
for the bootcamp is as follows:

Saturday:

11:30AM - 12:30PM: CUC Peter/Wright/Mckenna

During this time we will be discussing competition logistics and getting to
know one another, so we will start with some icebreakers (sorry) and then
get into what the logistics will look like during a competition. We will
also discuss partner matching and how the TBA system works for those who do
not have a formal partner before the competition (which is completely
normal!!). There will also be some snacks during this portion of the day :)

12:30PM - 2:00PM: CUC Kenner

James and Jamie will be teaching International Latin and American Rhythm
basics to you guys! This time will include both structured lessons/review
and unstructured practice time.

Sunday:

11:30AM - 1:00PM: CUC Kenner

11:30AM - 12:30PM American Smooth with Brenna and Abby

12:30PM - 1:00PM Practice/Social/Snacks/Transfer to Tepper

1:00PM - 2:00PM: Tepper Simmons B

International Standard with Aditya and Fa

Sidenote: I put 9/27-9/29 in the schedule for OSU, but it should be
9/27-9/28 as we will only be in Columbus for one night.
