Welcome Back Dancers!

We hope you had a restful break and are as excited to get back into
ballroom as we are! Please read this email carefully for information about
Auditions,  Jacket Orders, and Mock Comp Registration + Volunteering.

And of course, SPRING RUSH!!

Please note, lessons and rush will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week due
to MLK day, and return to normal schedule next week.

News

Auditions[Action Required 1/15]

If you are moving from Newcomer to Int 1, you must sign-up to audition.
Please fill out this form by this Monday, January 15th by midnight

This semester, only people moving from Newcomer to Int 1 will audition.
Everyone else will remain in their same level from the Fall semester.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, January 16 at 5:00 PM for Standard and
*Wednesday,* January 17 at 6:10 PM for Latin. Contact Abby at agq at cmu.edu

Jacket Orders[Action Required 1/31]

Have you seen us wearing those cool CMU Ballroom maroon jackets at
competitions? Are you ready to have one of your own, embroidered with your
very own name? Of course you are! Please fill out this order form by January
31st

Mock Comp[Action Required 1/24]

Dip your toes in the water of ballroom competitions by entering our low
stakes, very fun mock comp! Mock comp works just like a normal competition,
except it’s free, local, and designed especially as an
introductory/practice experience. Officers and volunteers will walk you
through every step of the competition process, offer you feedback (if you’d
like), and of course, cheer you on!

Mock comp will be held on January 28th.  Please fill out this form to

Veteran dancers: we need your help to run mock comp smoothly! Please fill

SPRING RUSH!!

Rush, as most of you are familiar, is our recruitment event we host every
semester. We teach beginner-friendly lessons, put on showcases, and play
games. It’s always a lot of fun, so please show up, bring a friend, and
mingle with our new, soon-to-be ballroom dancers!

Community Events

USDance Event Jan 20th @ Wightman School

Have fun social dancing at a ballroom in the area—bus or walk from campus.
College students only $5. There will be two jack and jill competitions in
waltz and chacha with prizes! January 20, salsa lesson at 7pm, general
dancing at 8pm. Flyer attached.
