Hello Ballroom Friends,

We’re super excited for Penn State Snowball next weekend! As you may have
Pseen in the Bonus Email, we’ve got lots to offer this week to get prepared
and get pumped.

As an additional note, our coach Dmitry will be out of town this Wednesday
for a competition. Levels Int 1 and above will have free practice space,
and our newcomer lesson will be taught by a veteran dancer this week.

News

Nationals:

To finish the semester, we will be competing at USA Dance National
Collegiate DanceSport Championships (Aka Nationals, Aka NCDC, etc)!! As
many of you know, this event will take place right here in Pittsburgh, PA
on March 23rd and 24th!

Please note that in addition to filling the usual registration info, you’ll
need to create a USA Dance Membership and send Saumya the details.
Instructions for how to do so can be found on the form. Please also see the
form for details on competition fees.

Penn State Snowball:

Registration is closed for Penn State Snowball now. Keep an eye out for
another email soon with information about hotel and car groups!

The competition is approximately 2.5 hours away. Car groups will be leaving
the afternoon of Friday, February 24th and returning to Pittsburgh the
evening of Saturday, February 25th. The cost of attendance is $40, due
February 21st.

Competition Prep:

In case you missed our bonus email, we’re implementing a couple things to
help get you prepped for Penn State this week!

   -

   Partnership Workshop

Next Monday, the 19th during social time (9pm), we'll discuss best
practices for finding a dance partner and negotiating what you want your
partnership to look like. We'll also help some of you pair up for Penn
State.

   -

   4-Style Costume Rounds

At the same time as the partnership workshop (Monday, 9pm), in the other
part of Rangos we’ll run rounds in all four styles (standard, latin,
smooth, rhythm). We encourage you to wear your dance costume to get in the
competition mindset and practice what it’s like to dance in your
competition clothes!

   Hair/Make-up

Next Wednesday, the 21st during social time (9pm), we'll teach you how do
competition hair and make-up.
