Hello ballroom friends!

Great to see so many returning dancers from Rush + previous years :D We’re

Payments:

After two free lessons, we ask that you pay for the rest of the semester.
Students owe $40, non-students owe $90. This one-time payment covers all
lessons through the end of Fall. We accept cash or check, paid at the front
table. If you want to pay online/by card, please follow these instructions

[ACTION REQUIRED: 10/4] Apple-Picking:

Dancers, the season is upon us: pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters,  and
best of all, CMU Ballroom’s annual apple-picking trip! Every fall, we head
out to Simmons Farm for an afternoon of apple picking, animal petting, hay
rides, and corn mazes. On Saturday, October 7, we will leave at 1pm from
the East Campus Garage next to the Cohon University Center. Cars will
depart from the farm by 4pm, depending on passenger desires. Price varies
depending on how many apples/pumpkins you want to take home (see sign-up
form for details).

Newcomer Bootcamp… Two:

If you came last week, we taught you everything you needed to know for
Latin/Standard style competition. But there’s a whole ‘nother set of dances
for you to sweep the floor with: American Smooth/Rhythm dances! These are very
similar to Latin/Standard, so your skills will transfer very well between
the two. Less people dance the American styles around here, so it can be a
fun way to get more dances in at comps in a smaller competition pool. It’s
also just fun to try new things :)

Even if you’re not sure yet, this fun afternoon will run through everything
you need to know to jump in for smooth/rhythm dances at a competition. You
don’t need a partner. You definitely don’t need experience. Just show up
wearing something you can dance in. See you there this Sunday, 9/23 1-3pm
in CUC Keeler

to OSU DanceSport Classic in Columbus, OH. Love watching the higher level
dancers perform? Want to bond with your teammates on a fun roadtrip? Eager
to put on a fun outfit and compete against other newcomers? Please sign up
for OSU! Car groups will be leaving the afternoon/evening of Friday,
September 29th and returning late Saturday night, September 30th. No past
competition experience required. Please fill out the individual commitment

Dancesport seminar, led by former dancer and dietician, Ms. Ricci-Lee Hotz,
MS, RDN, LDN. RSVP at www.demidovdance.com/events. Cost is $30/person. All
dancers, competitive or social, are welcome to attend. Social hour to
follow until 9:30PM.

At the Wilkins School Community Center, PGH Swing’s hosting an Intro to
Collegiate Shag Workshop on Friday 9/22 from 7-9pm. On Saturday, 9/23, they’ll
have a  balboa refresher lesson at 11am, a series of balboa workshops from
1pm - 5:30pm, and a social w/ a live band at 7pm.
