[CMU Ballroom Dance Club]

Hello ballroom friends,

Good luck to all dancers competing at Penn State this weekend! More detail
about car and hotel assignments will be sent in a separate email.

We’re still taking payment for lessons this week! The first two lessons
each semester are free, so if you came to both of last week’s lessons then
you need to pay this week! The price is $40 for students and $90 for
non-students, and this payment covers all lessons for the Spring semester.
We accept cash, check (payable to Carnegie Mellon University), or payment
via CashNet (see the attachment for instructions).

for the Carnegie Classic competition is due this Wednesday, February 1.
This is a super easy way to try out competing since it’s right at CMU, so
we strongly encourage all members (regardless of experience level) to sign
up to compete! We’ll have a newcomer bootcamp the weekend before to make
sure that everyone is prepared. More information about the competition will
be sent in a separate email.

CMUBDC has been invited to perform on March 10 at the Pittsburgh Heart Ball,
a formal black-tie event! If you’re interested in participating in a

Scotch Ball, our annual formal dance social, will be on March 25 this year!
It’ll be a fun night of socializing, dancing, and refreshments, including a
mini bachata lesson. To sign up to volunteer or to reserve tickets, please

The deadline to reserve tickets is March 1.

Our videographer Eric records our rounds each practice! The videos are
available to watch at https://ericonomics.me/rounds/ with the password
“dontstopdancing”.

Our Latin instructor Dmitry has shoes available for sale and dresses
available to rent, for all styles! If you’re interested, you can let us
know via email or in-person and we’ll check the availability.
