[CMUBDC] Ballroom Mock Comp email 1 of 2 (Read carefully!)

[CMU Ballroom Dance Club]

Dear dance friends,
Please please please sign up for Mock Comp ASAP. It is on this coming
Saturday; schedule at the bottom of the email. It is really complicated to
organize and we need all of the registrations in by 11:59pm on Monday
(tomorrow). ALL club members are strongly encouraged to participate,
regardless of commitment level or skill level or having a partner already.

Please sign up and show up! We need to assign TBA partners too so if you
are a veteran sign up to TBA and volunteer. TBA partners will be announced
in the next email (that comes out after the deadline closes on Monday
night).

Plan to be there promptly at 8:00am so that you can get your hair and
makeup and clothes and shoes on and warm up with your TBA or regular
partner. Beginner dancers are encouraged to dance all 4 styles if they can.

For those of you who do not currently have ballroom shoes, please order
some from Amazon or similar promptly; they do not need to be expensive but
you cannot dance in sneakers. For beginner leaders, order shoes that have
the 1 inch heel (not latin shoes). For beginner followers, if you are only
getting one pair, order Latin heels not Standard heels!


*Dress code: (See officers ASAP if you have questions)*

   - Standard and Smooth:
      - for leaders: White shirt, black tie or bow tie, vest, and black
      dress pants or dance pants.
- *If you need a vest, we have vests in the closet for you to borrow.*
      - for followers: leotard (from amazon) and longer skirt, or longer
      dress*.*
         - *If you need a longer skirt or dress, we have some in the closet
         for you to borrow.*
      - Latin and rhythm:
      - for leaders: Black dress shirt (or white if you don't have black)
      and black dress pants or dance pants.
      - for followers: leotard (from amazon) and shorter skirt, or shorter
      dress.
         - *If you need to borrow a skirt or dress, we have some in the
         closet for you to borrow.*
