[CMUBDC] Remainder for Events this weekend! - Week of 1/20

Hello Ballroom friends!

I hope you all are had a great time at our Rush events these past two
weeks! We do have a lot of events coming up so please see below for all the
details. Also, lessons start this Monday, so please see below for sign-up
and payment information.

*Tomorrow,* we have a *competition team Meet n' Greet*. It will be this
Saturday, January 25 at* 11:30 AM* in the* Danforth Lounge* of the CUC.

*This weekend* we will also be starting out *Newcomer Bootcamp*! Newcomers
will learn more about the dances you saw at Rush, as well as some new
dances.

We also have two socials coming up! Please see below for more details.

Most importantly, our semester lessons start* this Monday*!!!!! If you
would like to take lessons with the CMU Ballroom Dance Club, please fill
out this form: cmubdc.org/join.

We will take *payments* for the lessons starting on the first day of
lessons, *January 27, 2020.* We accept either cash or check. Please make
the check out to *Carnegie Mellon University*. The pricing is on the form,
but I am repeating it below for clarity. Please let me know if you have any
questions:

*Students* - $35 for Beginner Lessons (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM); $30 for
Intermediate/Gold Lessons

*Non-Students* - $80 for Beginner Lessons (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM); $75 for
Intermediate/Gold Lessons

*Salsa/Bachata* - $20 for one, $30 for both (9:30 PM - 10:15 PM)

Upcoming Events and Announcements
*Adam's Professional-Taught Beginner Salsa and Bachata Lessons*

Adam's classes will start 1/27 at 9:30PM. *These are great lessons for
beginners to take!* For pricing and more information, please see our
website: cmubdc.org* Please note that we have switched the days Salsa and
Bachata are being taught on.* Mondays for Salsa, and Wednesdays for Bachata.

*Competition Team Meet n' Greet* (Saturday, Janruary 25, 2020: 10:30 AM, UC
- Danforth Lounge)

Are you interested in practicing your dance skills?  How about hanging out
with friends on weekend road trips to neighboring cities for competitions?
Our competition team might be right for you!! We practice from 12:30-3:30
PM on Saturdays and Sundays in the UC Activities Room.  We also have fun
social events like apple picking and board game parties. Come and learn
more about us! Coming to meet and greet doesn’t mean you have to commit to
the comp team, and joining doesn’t require an audition, partner, or even
dance experience!

*Newcomer Bootcamp* (Sun 1/26, Sat 2/1, Sun 2/2: 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM, UC -
Activities Room):

New members, you’ll learn more about the dances you saw/learned at rush, as
well as some new dances! Don’t worry if you missed a few days of rush,
we’ll get you caught up! On Saturday we’ll focus on the standard dances
(waltz, tango, and quickstep), and on Sunday we’ll do the latin dances
(rumba, cha cha, and jive).

*Valentines Day Social *(Saturday, February 1, 2020: 7:00 PM, UC - Rangos)

CMU Ballroom Presents the Spring Social Series: *VALENTINE'S DAY SOCIAL!!*
Whether you have found THE ONE or you're single af, it's time to dance!
Join us in* CUC Rangos on February 1st* for an unforgettable night of
dancing and fun. Hope to see you there!

*Pricing:* *$10* per person, *-$5* for members, *-$5* for students,* Free
for CMU Students *with ID. (Yes, there is math involved. It's okay, I
believe in you!)

*USA Dance Social* (February 15, 2020)

More details to be coming soon! They will be holding a fundraiser for our
