[CMUBDC] Ballroom Lessons - Week of 2/24

Hello Ballroom friends,

A new block of lessons is starting* this week*! We will be teaching *American
Tango and Swing on Mondays*, and *American Waltz and American Cha Cha on
Wednesdays*.

Also, this *Saturday, February 29, at 12:30PM* sharp, *Jay* (one of the
nicest and most welcoming people you will ever talk to) will be hosting a *mini
30-min workshop* on *how to practice outside lessons slash without a
partner*!! (Open to fall and spring newcomers) If you ever find yourself
confused on how to practice alone and best digest what you have learned in
lessons, this is a great opportunity to learn how. Please come!

Newcomers especially or any member of our dancing community: if you are*
interesting in competing* with the CMU BDC Competition Team and joining us
at our next comp, please fill out this form to indicate your

Also, *CMU Ballroom elections* are coming up once again. Whether or not you
are thinking of running for a position, please attend the election to help
us decide the future of the club!

Officers are responsible for deciding on all aspects of club function
including but not limited to lessons offered, instructors hired, fees
charged, events organized, and competitions participated in. If you
want to *apply
for an officer position*, applications will be accepted until *Monday,
March 9, at 12:00 PM (noon)*.  Please read the descriptions of elected

All membership card holders (from F19/S20) are eligible to attend the
elections and/or cast their vote.  All membership card holders who are CMU
students are eligible to run for office. To sign up to *run as a

Elections will be held *Wednesday, March 18, 2019 at 9:30 pm in the
Danforth Conference Room*. Even if you’re not running, come to elections
and cast your vote for the individuals you think would be the most
qualified to make these decisions to benefit all of you!

Also, out annual *Scotch Ball* is coming up soon! Please reserve you ticket

The form must be filled out per individual. If you are paying for multiple

*Pricing:*

**Beginner dancers*: We recommend you attend both the professionally taught
newcomer lessons and the student taught beginner lessons. This membership
only costs a *flat $35 for students*, covering the entire semester! For
non-students, this fee is $80.

Upcoming Events and Announcements
*Ice Skating and Watch Party* (Friday, February 28, 2020: 6:30 PM, Schenley
Park Ice Skating Rink)

A large group of ballroom people will all coordinate to appear at the
Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink on this specific Friday night at 6:30 PM to
skate! Some of us can skate, others cannot, but it will be fun! Afterwards
we are going to watch some old Rounds and Comp videos of the newcomer days
of some of our veteran members! Join if you would like!
