**LESSON DESCRIPTIONS**Since our lessons schedule is a little different this year, and possibly a little more complicated, let me try to explain the different levels we offer:- Beginner 1 is open for everyone. If you have never danced before, this is the class for you. This will be an introduction to each dance, including basic steps, timing, musicality, and a few more fun but still easy steps.- Beginner 2 is for those who have attended the previous two weeks of Beginner 1 lessons, are comfortable with that material, and want to learn more. This will include slightly more complex steps, more focus on technique, etc. The way our dances are arranged, you would learn Dance A in Beginner 1 during weeks 1 and 2, and you can then continue with Dance A in Beginner 2 during weeks 3 and 4, while also learning Dance B in Beginner 1.- Intermediate lessons are intended for those dancers who have attended Beginner lessons in previous semesters (or learned elsewhere) and have mastered all the steps taught, with proper timing and technique. At the beginning of each lesson, the instructors will evaluate everyone's dancing, and people who do not have a sufficient background for keeping up with the lesson will be asked to sit out for that dance. We want to make this class beneficial for our advanced members, and aim to keep the curriculum advanced and fast-paced.
- Newcomer classes are professionally-taught lessons with more emphasis on technique. It is a good class for beginners to take in order to support their learning in Beginner 1/2, and is open to everyone.- Bronze lessons are also professionally-taught, and are intended for students with at least a year of dance experience. The professional instructor will determine whether or not this level is a good fit for you through a try-out.- Silver classes are for students who dance/compete on the Silver level or above. The professional instructor will determine whether or not this level is a good fit for you through a try-out.
**All these lessons require a MEMBERSHIP FEE to be paid. Prices can be found at www.cmubdc.org/lessons.php If you do not want to commit to a full semester of lessons, you could also pay $5/evening or $3/lesson each time. We will be accepting cash or checks (made out to "Carnegie Mellon University") at the front desk at the beginning of lessons. If you haven't purchased the membership yet, please make sure to arrive a little early. If you already got the membership, don't forget to bring your card!!
**SALSA LESSONS**In additional to our ballroom lessons, we will also be teaching SALSA every Thursday, 5:00 - 6:30 PM in the Morewood Multipurpose Room (in the building on corner of Forbes and Morewood). The price for these will be $5/lessons.

Hope you are all excited to start dancing!! Please let me know if you have any questions.
