Heidi,
I am currently working on Alice 2.5 and is hoping to release this version by December. This version will include a lot of bug fixes, and most importantly it will be able to run on newer MAC OS. As mentioned by Don is the reply below, we welcome any testers to help test this new version before we release it to the public. Link will be available soon/ in a few days.

Hope all is going well this year. I am trying to run Alice 2.4 on my new El capitan 10.11.6 machine but I am encountering the run time Java SE 6 error. I installed this and restarted the machine but I am encountering this error. I can not get around it.  I could not find anything on the FAQ or in previous emails. Any ideas?

We will soon release a new version of Alice 2, Alice 2.5, that corrects these problems, as best we can determine.
