Our high school uses Alice 2 as a part of a 1 semester elective on
Animation. The class is not necessarily designed as a programming class,
but we use it in the 2nd quarter. We chose 2 because there were more
material available, it is easier for the non programmer, and there are less
" bug" questions. It's worked out well, and we will probably stick with it.
Students here who are truly interested in programming also have AP
programming available, as well and intro to programming course with Java,
so it fills a niche for us.
