alice-teacher Student worlds crashing

The older version. I wanted to update to the newest version, but the IT people wouldn’t because a) they said it took too much room and b) they didn’t have time due to problems with standardized testing issues. I am not allowed to update the computers in my lab, I have to wait for the IT person. I do tell the kids to save often, they had saved. They hadn’t saved a second version, that is a good idea. However, I was out sick most of the week, so they were on their own and with high school kids it is all I can do to get them to save 1 version. In the future I’ll emphasize the importance of saving more than 1 version of their work.

Just to be clear because of the context, ar you referring to version 3.1.61.0.0, or to the latest Alice version, 3.2.5.0.0?

I have had the same experience this year. It almost seems that any worlds complicated enough to interest my students as a game cannot be supported by Alice. I have been surprised that I have not seen other similar complaints. Any hints on what we are doing wrong?

Some of my students’ worlds are crashing after they have been building it for several days. This has happened in the past. They are using 3.1.61.0.0. I’ve tried to get my IT people to update to the newest version, but they won’t due to the file size. It is very frustrating and demoralizing for them to work so hard and have their work all lost. Is there anything I can do to prevent this or for them to be able to recover their work? This is all we get:
