alice-teacher org.alice.ide.rootDirectory not set?

Hi Don,

Thanks for the response. There was a different version of the plugin. The student has upgraded the plugin so that we both now have the same version (3.1.88.0.0), and tried it with a new Alice project, but we still have the same result. What else could I try?

Thanks,
Kevin

Is there a chance that you there are two different NetBeans plugins involved? Someone is using an older plugin version, or perhaps with Alice 3.1.92.0.0, someone is using the Java 7 plugin and someone is using the Java 8 plugin?

If they are different plugins for different versions of Alice 3 (3.1.88.0.0. vs 3.1.92.0.0, for example) then try updating the plugin. If it is a Java 7 vs a Java 8 problem, please let us know.

Thank you,

Hi there,

Has anyone ever had the following error message?

System property: org.alice.ide.rootDirectory is not set. Alice will not work until this is addressed.

This is when I try to run a project of out NetBeans (imported via the Alice plugin). It is a project from one of my students. None of the other students have this issue. The project works fine on his computer, but not on either of mine.

I tried googling this and found nothing.

I could set an environment or build variable if I knew what it should be set to. I tried setting to the location of Alice on my machine(s), but that didn't seem to help.

Help!

Thanks,
Kevin
