alice-teacher disappearing text from "Say" method in alice 2.3

As an exercise, I am having my students recreate a few moments from the
famous 1960's frames of reference Physics video below:

However some of the text does not appear for some reason.  The bubbles
appear but not the words inside the bubbles.

Any clue as to how to fix/work around this?
